International School Dhaka (ISD) is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in Dhaka, Bangladesh that was established in 1999. The school enrolls students in the age range of 2–18, from Playgroup through to Grade 12, providing an international education for local and expatriate children living in Bangladesh. There are over 70 international teachers or administrators from about 26 different nationalities. The school is recognized by the Bangladesh Ministry of Education and is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB).

Grade 5 Shark Tank: A Celebration of Innovation! 💡👏🏼
Our Grade 5 students amazed us with their creativity and confidence at the Shark Tank event, as part of their unit celebration. Presenting their innovative ideas to a panel of judges, they showcased exceptional #research, #problem-solving, and #presentation skills.
Some of the ideas our young innovators presented based on real life challenges they face at school, were to create a roof cooling system, a robotic mop to soak up the water in the swim changing rooms, chair caps to prevent chairs making so much noise when being pulled in or out, a fidget cube to relieve stress and the extended whiteboard eraser to get to those hard to reach places.
Our panel of judges including staff, teachers and the leadership team asked specific questions about the innovations, reviewed and tested the model prototypes and shared their feedback on how feasible they feel the idea is.
It was an inspiring day led by Miss Fiona Singh Grade 5 Teacher, filled with brilliant pitches, thoughtful solutions, and great #entrepreneurial spirit.
