Important Progress Monitoring Tools for ISD Students
All students in grades 6-10 will participate in MAP testing on October 10th, 12th, and 13th. MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) is an adaptive, online test that students complete each fall and spring to monitor their progress and use to set growth and achievement goals. ISD uses MAP data to inform instruction and classroom groupings and MAP test results factor into decisions related to grade 11 and 12 pathway placement and IB Diploma candidacy.
The PSAT (Preliminary SAT) will be administered to all grade 11 students and grade 10 students who opted to take the exam on October 11th. The PSAT is now digital and all students taking the exam are required to download the Bluebook App and sign in prior to testing. Bluebook has practice exams which are highly recommended before testing. The PSAT provides detailed score reports that help students who plan to take the SAT target their areas of study. PSAT scores are also used to help students determine their university application list.
Parents can support their child in MAP and PSAT testing by making sure the child gets ample sleep and nutritious food leading up to testing. Taking practice tests is encouraged for PSAT and practice tests are available for MAP as well. The username and password are both “grow”.
