From Sunday, 28th January to Thursday, 1st February, the ISD will once again take part in the Great Kindness Challenge (GKC). The GKC is a worldwide event that began in a small community in California 13 years ago and is now celebrated all around the world. During Kindness Week we will have a variety of activities all running with the 2024 theme: CREATE KINDNESS. Some of the main community events to look forward to include reading buddies with the primary students, a whole school photo, and an arts showcase by our secondary students. Throughout the week, we hope to see all members of our school community being intentional about creating kindness. Kindness is important because it contributes to a positive and safe learning and working environment, it encourages a culture of unity, compassion, acceptance and respect. We look forward to all students, staff, and parents being intentional about creating kindness for self and others.
