ISD Cricket Team Narrowly Misses Victory in Super Over at AISD Tournament

On November 2nd, the ISD High School cricket team faced a thrilling challenge at the AISD tournament, where they competed against the formidable Sir John Wilson School (SJW) in a T20-style match that ended in a dramatic super over. The match was packed with excitement, with ISD posting 101 runs in 12 overs, only for SJW to match their total in a nail-biting finish on the final ball of their innings, sending the game into a tense super over. In the super over, SJW managed to score 27 runs, while ISD fell short by just 6 runs. Despite the loss, the match highlighted the team’s resilience, determination, and fighting spirit. With most of the team composed of players from Grades 7 to 10 and only one Grade 12 player, the students showed tremendous growth, valuable experience, and maturity in the face of tough competition. The thrilling match was an incredible learning experience, as our team demonstrated their ability to perform under pressure. Four players from ISD earned spots on the All-Star team for their exceptional individual performances:

• Ayaan Ahmed Rahim (Grade 8)
• Shezaad Akbar Sobhan (Grade 8)

Although they narrowly missed victory, the ISD cricket team’s performance at the tournament showcased their skills, determination, and team spirit, ensuring that ISD’s cricket program will continue to grow and improve in the years ahead. We look forward to more exciting matches and further development of these young athletes.
