On February 10, we were thrilled to welcome nearly 100% of our parents to the twice-yearly Student Parent Teacher Conferences. This second conference of the school year provided a meaningful opportunity for parents, students, and teachers to collaborate and strategize on how to best support continued growth and learning during the second half of the school year.
The purpose of these conferences was multi-faceted, focusing on key aspects of each student’s development:
Share Insights into Progress, Strengths, and Areas for Improvement: Following the release of the first report card, teachers provided a detailed overview of students’ academic progress, highlighting their strengths in various subjects and pinpointing areas for improvement. This open conversation allowed teachers and parents to discuss tailored strategies to help students address any academic challenges they may be facing.
Discuss Goals for Continued Growth: Parents, teachers, and students collaboratively set learning goals for the upcoming period. By identifying clear, actionable objectives, this discussion empowered students to take ownership of their learning and focus on areas where they could achieve further growth. This goal-setting also helped parents understand the support they could provide at home.
Address Any Challenges or Concerns: Each conference served as a platform for parents to raise any concerns regarding their child’s academic or social-emotional development. Teachers and parents openly discussed any challenges students might be facing and explored possible solutions to ensure students receive the support they need for success.
Strengthen the Partnership Between Home and School: These conferences emphasized the importance of building a strong relationship between school and home. Teachers and parents worked together to create a supportive learning environment for students, fostering collaboration and ensuring consistency between classroom expectations and home support.
Offer Guidance on How Parents Can Assist with Learning at Home: Teachers provided parents with practical advice on how they could support their child’s learning at home. This included suggestions for resources, strategies for reinforcing key concepts, and tips on creating a structured and conducive learning environment at home.
In addition to the conferences, the Primary Well hosted a variety of valuable services for parents to explore:
School Nutritionist: Our school nutritionist was available to answer parents’ questions regarding meal plans, special diets, and healthy eating habits to support students’ well-being and academic performance.
ManageBac Supervisor: Parents had the opportunity to speak with our ManageBac supervisor, who assisted with troubleshooting access issues and provided guidance on using the platform effectively to stay informed on student progress.
Sign-Up for Session 3 ASAs: Parents could also sign up for the Session 3 After-School Activities (ASAs), providing additional opportunities for students to explore new interests and engage in extracurricular activities.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all of our parents for making this day such a success. Your involvement is invaluable in helping us create a strong, supportive educational community for our students. Thank you again for your continued partnership and commitment to their growth!
