Our KG students dove into persuasive writing with a juicy goal—getting mangoes from the school tree! Working in pairs and small groups, they brainstormed convincing reasons and practiced how to respectfully persuade someone. Then came the fun part: each group wrote a letter to Mr. Farhad, collectively putting their strongest arguments forward.
In a delightful twist, they didn’t just write—they presented! Mr. Farhad met with our young writers, heard their ideas (and big mango dreams), and happily gave permission. Success! With help from the gardening team, the mango harvest was on.
But it didn’t end there. The students got to taste the sweet reward of their hard work—mango salad and even their own mango to take home. Through this activity, our young writers didn’t just learn how to write persuasively—they saw the real-world impact of their words. Collaborative thinking, confident speaking, and delicious results? That’s a win-win-win!
Who knew writing could be so… fruitful?
