On Wednesday, February 26, ISD hosted the highly anticipated 2024-2025 Secondary Sports Day, where students from grades 6 to 12 came together to compete in seven different sports. From the classic Tug of War to a series of exciting track and field events, the atmosphere was filled with energy, enthusiasm, and team spirit throughout the day.
The competition was fierce among all four houses, but in the end, it was Pacific House that triumphed, claiming the top spot with 151 points. Their victory came by a narrow margin of just 5 points over Sahara House, who finished with 146 points. Amazon House made a remarkable comeback in the final round, edging out Everest by just 2 points, securing third place with 119 points to Everest’s 117 points.
Each student displayed impressive athleticism, sportsmanship, and skill, and the event truly showcased the spirit of friendly competition and teamwork across all houses and grade levels. Every participant gave their best, and the atmosphere was filled with cheers and encouragement from peers, staff, and families alike.
A huge thank you goes to the ISD teachers who volunteered their time and energy to umpire and supervise the games, as well as the PHE department for organizing and running the event seamlessly. The event wouldn’t have been possible without their dedication and hard work.
We also want to extend our gratitude to the parents, guardians, and families who supported the students from home, ensuring they were well-prepared, hydrated, and ready to give their all in the competition.
The enthusiasm and spirit of the ISD community made the event memorable and fun for all involved, and we are already looking forward to next year’s Sports Day!
