We’re thrilled to share some exciting news from our school community! This week, our students had the incredible opportunity to interact with none other than Dav Whatmore, the renowned cricket coach who led the Bangladesh cricket team from 2002 to 2007.
Mr. Whatmore’s coaching tenure is legendary, marked by Bangladesh’s remarkable transformation from underdogs to champions. Under his guidance, Bangladesh achieved their first-ever Test match victory in early 2005, stunning the cricketing world with an unforgettable triumph against top-ranked Australia later the same year. His strategic prowess and dedication played a pivotal role in shaping Bangladesh into a formidable cricketing force.
Our students were privileged to engage in an interactive session with Mr. Whatmore, tailored especially for grades 6-8. Through an engaging presentation, he shared invaluable insights and techniques on cricket, covering essential skills such as batting, bowling, fielding, and more. It was a truly enlightening experience, as Mr. Whatmore’s wealth of knowledge and passion for the sport inspired our young athletes to reach for greatness.
But wait, there’s more! The highlight of the day was a practical lesson led by Mr. Whatmore himself, where our budding Hawks had the unique opportunity to learn directly from a cricketing legend. The energy on the field was palpable as students honed their skills under his expert guidance, fueling their enthusiasm and passion for the game.
We’re immensely grateful to Mr. Whatmore for taking the time to share his expertise and inspire the next generation of cricketers. His visit was not only educational but also deeply motivating, reminding our students that with dedication and perseverance, anything is possible.
As we continue to nurture talent and foster a love for sports within our school community, we look forward to more exciting opportunities for growth and learning.
