We are thrilled to share that our little learners have settled in beautifully and are diving into exciting adventures through play-based learning!Currently, we’ve focused on exploring primary colors and shapes. The children are having so much fun identifying and playing with these basics, which are key to understanding the world around them.We’ve also started Unit 1: “Who We Are”, where the children are learning all about themselves and their families. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to reflect on their individuality, express their unique qualities, and appreciate the importance of family. Through art, storytelling, and interactive activities, each child is discovering more about themselves and their connections with loved ones.How We Learn:
Inquiry: We encourage curiosity and questioning, helping children explore their interests and learn new concepts.
Hands-On Learning: Through building, drawing, and creating, the children are developing motor skills while learning about colors, shapes, and family dynamics.
Collaborative Play: Children are learning to share, communicate, and work together, which nurtures their social development.
Creative Expression: Through art, music, and role-playing, children have plenty of room to express their imagination.
[…] The Grade 2 students had their Unit Celebration on the 7th of October. The Solamid grade 2 students joined us for the special event as did the parents. The students researched celebrations that take place around the world and became ‘experts’. As part of their presentation, the students created informative posters and the design team assisted the students in making beautiful iMovies which the students used to teach the parents and students about their celebrations. The performing and visual art teams helped the students in their presentations, teaching them songs and dances as well as making stunning pieces of art incorporating the symbols of the festivals. The Bangla and French departments organized presentations on Eid and Bastille Day with the singing of an Eid celebration song and the French national anthem. As part of our unit celebration, we invited the rest of the primary students to participate in a Songkran celebration. Students brought in donations so that they could support our action of buying school backpacks for the Solmaid grade 2 students. Thank you to everyone who donated. Your contribution made a difference and has allowed us to buy these students their much needed backpacks. We hope the primary students had a wonderful time celebrating Songkran with us. […]
