Grade 5 Excursion

On Tuesday, March 5 our Grade 5 students and teachers embarked on an exciting journey to Sylhet. This unique educational excursion is designed to integrate various elements of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) curriculum while providing students with hands-on learning experiences outside the classroom. 

The students will partake in a nature walk through the mountain and tea gardens of Lalakhal, and explore the significance of Sylhet’s natural landscapes and life on the Sharee River during the excursion. As part of our commitment to service and action, the Grade 5 students hosted events and stalls to raise funds before the excursion. These funds have been used to purchase sports equipment, uniforms, and stationery for the students of a local village school. During the excursion, the students will visit the school, and engage in traditional Bangladeshi games providing them with insights into the region’s cultural traditions. 

The Grade 5 PYP excursion to Sylhet is an enriching and transformative experience for all involved. Through exploration, discovery, and reflection, students will gain a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of nature, culture, and community. This journey will not only foster their academic growth but also instill in them a sense of environmental stewardship and cultural appreciation that will empower them to develop ‘Awareness, Responsibility and Action for our Shared World.’
