International School Dhaka’s Diploma Programme CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) and MYP Service as Action (SA) initiatives are student-driven, aiming to achieve IB service learning outcomes through local partnerships. Embedded within the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, CAS/SA fosters the development of students into thoughtful, principled individuals through hands-on learning experiences.
The service strand of CAS nurtures empathy, social responsibility, and a sense of global citizenship among students, who lead service groups supporting community partners such as Solmaid and FFC. During Ramadan, Utsho and FFC service groups have partnered with Solmaid and FFC, extending invitations to partner schools for Iftar celebrations on Thursday, March 28th, 2024. The Iftar events promote the core principles of CAS and enhance personal and interpersonal development through experiential learning.
These student-led Iftar gatherings provide a platform for our school community to unite, exchange experiences, and strengthen bonds with neighbors. Through such endeavors, students fulfill CAS/SA requirements while contributing meaningfully to the community, exemplifying the imporatnce of service learning and fostering connections beyond the classroom. We eagerly anticipate the impact these partnerships and initiatives will have on our students and the broader community as global citizens.
Donations Welcome: Parents wishing to donate to support ISD students providing delicious Iftar food and a small gift to children from our deserving community partners can deposit cash into the donation box at the ISD Reception Desk in the Administration Building.
