Every year on February 21, we pause to remember and honor the brave individuals who gave their lives during the Bengali Language Movement of 1952. Their fight to preserve the right to speak in their mother tongue not only shaped the history of Bangladesh but also inspired the world to cherish linguistic and cultural diversity. In recognition of this profound legacy, UNESCO declared February 21 as International Mother Language Day, a reminder of the importance of preserving languages worldwide.
At International School Dhaka, we celebrate our rich cultural diversity, where languages serve as bridges, connecting us and bringing us closer together. This year, our students have worked with enthusiasm to prepare a celebration that highlights the vibrancy of languages and the strength of community. Through heartfelt performances, captivating presentations, and colorful cultural displays, they will demonstrate how language unites and inspires us all.
