Last week a group of 27 stakeholders from the school leadership, staff, parents and students made an excellent start in beginning the next ISD Strategic Plan. Under the guidance of our partners from ISS, Mr Tom Hawkins and Mr Steve Plisinski, the Core Team members were able to spend time discussing the main strategic priorities of the school over two days. There were many ideas, reflections and key priorities discussed in a very positive and future focussed team meeting which has resulted in several strategic imperatives being identified to support our school improvement.
After we develop more detailed plans in areas of school guiding statements, programmes, HR, facilities and admissions and marketing we will present these to the community. This is scheduled to take place before the end of the school year and some plans will begin immediately as a priority.
The next step will be to share a new Mission and Vision statement for ISD that is under development by the Core Team. This will provide greater understanding of who we are as a school, our purpose and our future vision for the school and our students.
As we reach 25 years since the founding of ISD, a new vision of the school which can better serve our students will be a great new development to celebrate for the whole community.
Many thanks to our students, parents and staff for working with commitment and dedication in the strategic planning sessions so far!
