The ISD Young Sustainability Award recognizes exceptional achievement in advancing ISD’s sustainability goals in leadership, learning, research, and service.

International School Dhaka Young Sustainability Award Description:

The ISD Young Sustainability Award recognizes exceptional achievement in advancing ISD’s sustainability goals in leadership, learning, research, and service.

It is a project-based nomination that will be awarded for the most innovative and creative idea to help beat plastic pollution in line with this year’s sustainability theme.

Eligibility: 

ISD students are eligible for the award.

Submission/Nomination Process: 

The ISD Green Committee/School Director will announce the winners during a period in November at an assembly/exhibit.

A submission must include the student’s name, grade, homeroom teacher, and parent name for all primary students along with a brief supporting statement (for age-appropriate students) explaining how their project works.

Selection Committee: 

The selection committee shall be composed of the Heads of the school and selected Teachers.

Guidelines for students:

The project must:

– be linked to one of the UN SDG’s 

– identify a specific issue either locally, nationally or globally

– comprise a written piece, a speech and a practical 

– show evidence of how it was made 

The student can:

– collaborate and work with their parents at home

– do trials in a practical setting 

– take advice from an expert in the industry 

– interview stakeholders to find out more about plastic pollution problems  

– include any current research.
