On Tuesday 25th February 2025, our Kindergarten students embarked on an exciting field trip to Gulshan Lake Park as part of their PYP unit, Sharing the Planet. The visit was designed to help our young learners explore the wonders of nature and understand how plants sustain life on earth. The students were thrilled to embark on a guided nature walk where they explored different plants and flowers. They eagerly touched soft petals, smelled fragrant herbs, and observed vibrant colours. To engage the students in hands-on learning, students participated in in a range of activities. Students took part in a nature walk scavenger hunt with magnifying glasses, they visited the nursery and talk to the gardener. Students were nature explorers as they used iPads to take phoptos of colours, leafs plants and flowers. These activities not only sparked excitement in our students but also encouraged them to observe the diversity in nature closely. To end their field trip the students and teachers enjoyed playing in the play park and a picnic lunch! The field trip was a delightful success, sparking curiosity and fostering a sense of wonder about the natural world. It beautifully complemented our Sharing the Planet unit, helping our young learners recognize the importance of caring for the environment and sharing resources with all living things.
