New Primary School Principal arriving in March 2024

In December the school concluded a lengthy process to identify and appoint a new Primary School Principal to replace Mr David Longworth. I am now pleased to inform you that Dr. Michael Palmer has been appointed as the next Primary School Principal. Dr Palmer was selected from a large number of quality applications for the position and was considered the strongest and most appropriate candidate by both stakeholders from the school and the STS Capital Ltd. leadership. 

Dr. Palmer is a Canadian national, a highly qualified Principal with considerable experience as a teacher, IB Coordinator and Principal in IB World Schools.  He has served in leadership roles at IB World Schools in Turkey, Ukraine, Georgia and, most recently in Canada. Michael would like to introduce himself with the following message: “I am thrilled to join the school community very shortly. The anticipation of working with the exceptional faculty and staff and learning about the school’s unique culture has filled me with excitement. I look forward to meeting you all soon.”

Dr. Palmer will be joining ISD at the beginning of March this year and this will ensure more continuity for the remainder of this year and start of the new school year. We look forward to welcoming Dr. Palmer to ISD shortly.
