As part of our Sharing Our Planet unit of inquiry, this trip will provide students with a wonderful opportunity to explore the natural environment and practice the scientific observational skills they have been developing in class. During this exciting visit, students will have the chance to discover how plants grow and observe the natural world firsthand. They will engage as Inquirers, asking thoughtful questions and investigating the differences between living and nonliving things, deepening their understanding of important environmental concepts.
This experience will also encourage students to be Knowledgeable as they connect new ideas with prior learning and Thinkers as they make careful observations about growth, change, and the characteristics of living things.
Throughout the trip, students will demonstrate their Communication skills by sharing their discoveries with their peers and teachers. As they explore the natural world, they will be encouraged to be Open-Minded and Reflective, considering different perspectives and thinking critically about their role in caring for the environment.
Beyond supporting cognitive development, this experience aims to foster a sense of wonder, responsibility, and appreciation for the world around them, nurturing students to become Caring individuals who show respect for all living things.
