On Monday the 10th all PYP parents are invited to student-teacher conference, where the goal is to provide an opportunity for students to reflect on their learning, share their progress, and set future goals in collaboration with their teacher. These conferences are a three-way dialogue where both the teacher and the student contribute, with parents also involved in discussing and celebrating the student’s development.
Key elements include:
Student Reflection: Students are encouraged to reflect on their learning experiences, showing what they’ve learned, how they have grown, and areas where they can improve.
Learning Goals: The student and teacher set specific learning goals for the future. These goals can be academic, social, or personal in nature, and help guide the student’s focus moving forward.
Assessment of Progress: This could include feedback on the student’s ability to demonstrate key skill, such as research skills, communication, or reflection.
Celebrating Achievements: A key part of the conference is to celebrate the student’s achievements, no matter how big or small.
