Primary House Event: Earth Day Energy Challenge!

Primary Students Lead the Charge for Energy Awareness on Earth Day
In celebration of Earth Day, ISD’s Primary students hosted a vibrant House Event centered around energy awareness and sustainability. The event kicked off with a student-led presentation on carbon footprints, highlighting their impact within the ISD community.
Mr. Farhad, ISD’s Facilities Manager, was invited as a guest speaker. He offered insight into the school’s sustainability initiatives, including the use of solar panels, energy-saving air conditioning settings, and a new energy management system set to launch this summer.
Following the presentation, students divided into House groups to conduct energy audits of classrooms and set specific goals for reducing energy usage. Over the next four weeks, students will monitor electricity consumption, with progress shared each week by Mr. Michael during Morning Announcements.
If the initiative proves successful, Primary students are eager to extend the challenge to the Secondary school, encouraging a school-wide commitment to reducing energy consumption.
