Greenview Golf Resort, Gazipur Quote from one the Class of 2024 graduates regarding last senior retreat– “Definitely our Senior Retreat to Mati-Ta in Chittagong. It was my first school trip since joining ISD and also my first time away from home but that didn’t bother me because those were the best four days I had in the entire school year. The memories and the laughs that my friends and I had are something I’m going to cherish for a long time.

  • […] We are so excited for another year of Week Without Walls experiences. Grade 6-10 students attend Week Without Walls trips November 8th through the 15th. There are no MYP classes during this week. Students engage in meaningful service, fun and challenging adventure, team building, and have opportunities to grow as leaders and exemplify the IB Learner Profile attributes. Week Without Walls memories last a lifetime and bond students with each other and with ISD faculty.    Parents and students from grades 6-10 are invited to attend a whole group session in the Auditorium followed by breakout sessions that are grade level/trip-specific Week Without Walls meetings. Trip leaders will cover in detail the amazing programs we have planned for students as well as important information related to travel logistics, accommodations, and a packing list.    Week Without Walls November 2024 Destinations Grade 6 will adventure in Saraburi, Thailand and explore forest ecosystems, build their outdoor skills, and build community with their peers through games and challenges. Grade 7 will travel to Chiang Mai, Thailand and embark on a week-long program focused on exploring local food, culture, ecology, and environmental conversation.  Grade 8 students will explore the history and traditions of Hanoi and will engage in a meaningful service project in rural Mai Chau, Vietnam. Grade 9 will engage in service projects, ecological studies, and cultural programs on the beautiful island of Bali, Indonesia.  Grade 10 students will travel to Bintan island, Indonesia and participate in a clean water service project in a local community as well as learning about creative ways the community is addressing sea trash and declining mangrove forest growth.  […]

  • […] All students in grades 6-10 will participate in MAP testing on October 7th, 8th, and 10th. MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) is an adaptive, online test that students complete each fall and spring to monitor their progress and use to set growth and achievement goals. ISD uses MAP data to inform instruction and classroom groupings and MAP test results factor into decisions related to grade 11 and 12 pathway placement and IB Diploma candidacy.    The PSAT (Preliminary SAT) will be administered to all grade 11 students and grade 10 students who opted to take the exam on October 9th. The PSAT is now digital and all students taking the exam are required to download the Bluebook App and sign in prior to testing. Bluebook has practice exams which are highly recommended before testing. The PSAT provides detailed score reports that help students who plan to take the SAT target their areas of study. PSAT scores are also used to help students determine their university application list.  Parents can support their child in MAP and PSAT testing by making sure the child gets ample sleep and nutritious food leading up to testing. Taking practice tests is encouraged for PSAT and practice tests are available for MAP as well. The username and password are both “grow” […]
