Severe flooding has recently devastated nine districts in Bangladesh—Laxmipur, Brahmanbaria, Chattogram, Rangamati, Khagrachhari, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Sylhet, and Cox’s Bazar—affecting over 3.6 million people. This crisis has left many struggling to survive and in urgent need of assistance.
In response, we are organizing a flood relief drive and invite all members of our ISD community to join us in supporting those affected. As an IB school dedicated to fostering proactive and globally-minded students, it is our responsibility to show empathy and offer aid during times of crisis.
How You Can Help:
Cash Donations:
A donation box will be available in the main school reception area (administration building) for your convenience.
Other Items: Water bottles (small cases), old clothes, bedsheets, towels, mosquito coils, candles, lighters, oral rehydration salts (ORS), water purifier tablets, etc.
Collection Points: For food and supplies Primary collection boxes will be located in front of the Primary office and Secondary collection boxes will be located in front of the Secondary office
A group of Grade-12 students and teachers will also be directly involved in delivering the collected items to the flood victims in the Comilla district this coming weekend.
Please drop your donation by Thursday 5th September, 3:00 pm.
We would like to encourage you to discuss the importance of this initiative with your child and help them understand the impact of their contributions. All donations will be managed responsibly and distributed through reputable organizations. We will report on the funds raised and their management through the school newsletter.
Your generosity can make a significant difference in the lives of those affected. Let’s come together to support our community and show our solidarity during this critical time.
