Our Grade 11 DP candidates celebrated their first milestone in their Theory of Knowledge (ToK) course this week. ToK is one of the components of the DP core and is mandatory for all IB Diploma students. The ToK course is assessed through an exhibition and a 1,600 word essay. ToK is a purposeful inquiry into different ways of knowing, and into different kinds of knowledge, which is composed almost entirely of questions.
The most central of these is “How do we know?” ISD invited parents, teachers and students to our ToK 2024 exhibition to question our students about the objects they chose to explore ‘How do we know what we know’? Some of the objects our DP students chose were: the Rosetta Stone, Toy Stethoscope, a map of the Gaza strip, football cleats, and a family photo.
The exhibition had an excellent turnout of parents from many grade levels as well as secondary teachers and secondary students. Congratulations to our DP students on their achievements!
