US University Fair at ISD
ISD is excited to host a University Fair with 12 US universities on our School Campus.
Tuesday, 7 November, from 1:30-2:30 PM, available high school-age students will have the chance to speak to a dozen universities on the ISD Campus in the Secondary Well.
University Fairs are fantastic opportunities for high school students to learn about specific university requirements, top-ranked majors at each university, and steps they can begin to take in high school to apply. Aside from admissions, students may consider asking university representatives specifics about on-campus housing, peer support and international programs. Some suggested questions students can consider asking include:
- Do academic advisors understand the specific needs of international students?
- What is it like to live on campus?
- Does the university help international students find affordable accommodation near campus?
- What takes place during international student orientation?
- Does the campus provide a buddy or peer mentor system so incoming international students can connect with other students?

[…] In the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IBMYP), Design Education transcends the boundaries of conventional learning through the integration of Engineering Robotics, Product, and Digital Design. It involves the seamless integration of the Carnegie Mellon curriculum, thoughtfully aligned with the IBMYP framework, to foster the development of Design Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills that include research, communication, critical thinking, collaboration, Self-management, and social skills. Starting in Grade 6, students embark on a journey of exploration and innovation. They delve into the world of robotics, where they create and code navigational robots for a factory setting. As they progress through the program, each grade level presents a unique challenge, from crafting and coding an assistant VEX IQ robot in Grade 7 to designing and coding a surveillance robot in Grade 8. By Grade 9, students focus on building and coding maintenance robots, and in Grade 10, they tackle the ultimate challenge of designing and codingnavigationn systems for robots in extreme environments.
