ISD celebrates Victory Day!

Victory Day is celebrated on 16 December commemorating the ultimate victory in our Liberation War in 1971. On this day in 1971, the Pakistani Army surrendered in Dhaka marking the end of nine months of atrocities in Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Liberation War started on 26 March 1971 and lasted until 16 December 1971 which is celebrated as Victory Day in Bangladesh. Every year we observe this day with great solemnity.

We are delighted to extend a heartfelt invitation to all parents and students to ISD’s whole school assembly, where we will be celebrating Bangladesh’s Victory Day. On December 12, International School Dhaka (ISD) will host a special assembly to honor the courage and resilience of our nation’s heroes. This event will start with the Bangladeshi national anthem and will have a variety of performances honoring this significant period in Bangladeshi history. Our students will showcase their talents as it promises to be an emotional and educational experience. Your presence will undoubtedly amplify the spirit of unity and pride that defines our school community.  We look forward to sharing this meaningful occasion by wearing red and green on 12th December at 2 pm in an online Zoom Meeting (link will be shared closer to the event). Let us come together to celebrate and reflect on the significance of Bangladesh’s Victory Day.
