Meet our alumni from the Class of 2008, Mariha Q. Chowdhury. Let’s get to know about her journey after ISD!
⚡ Favorite memory from ISD?
Mariha: It’s hard to select one memory, but the last day of school was incredible. We had a water fight, and the entire class jumped in the pool together. Honestly, it sounds cliche but you only realize as you grow older that your time in school is something you will cherish forever. Waking up early is tough, but nothing like seeing your friends every day and creating a lifetime of memories.
⚡ Some achievements you made so far?
Mariha: After finishing my undergrad at Penn State, I started my own event management company, Emerald Events. I have been successfully running my company for eight years now. I also received my teaching license while finishing my M. Ed. from George Mason University.
⚡ How has ISD shaped you into the person you are?
Mariha: ISD has shaped me in many ways. I was part of the Student Council and had the opportunity to organize events like bbq nights, themed parties, food festivals, etc. Little did I know that was an element of foreshadowing, and I would be organizing events for a living.
⚡ Any advice for the current students of ISD?
Mariha: Cherish the present moment, this can be the best time of your life.
