It takes a certain amount of courage to attend a dance event, especially if you’ve never attended anything quite like it before, but that is exactly what ISD families did in February when they attended ISD’s first Community Dance Evening. The event was a joint effort between ISD’s marketing department and myself. I prepared and taught the dances. The marketing department did everything else, advertising and organizing the event. read more

CAS (Creativity, Activity, and Service) is a core element of the IB Diploma Programme. Its goal is to advance and develop students’ interpersonal and personal learning. Students participate in a variety of events outside the classroom as part of CAS, which is built on the concepts of experiential learning. read more

This month, the Class of 2024 received an update on Pearson’s Test of English or PTE, which was recently recognized by the Canadian government as a valid test of English proficiency when applying for a student visa (PIE News, 2023). The following governments recognize the PTE as a valid test of English proficiency when applying for a student visa; Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand governments. read more

Primary Design integrated with Grade 2 on their unit about the consequences of human actions on water resources. We used our new Lego Spike Essential kits containing classroom brick sets that allowed the students to create models using Lego and connect to an intuitive SPIKE™ app. The iPad app connects to the hub or the computer relaying the code to make the motors and sensors. read more
